AACRL will hold its annual dinner meeting on Wednesday, April 20th, at Lester's Restaurant, 24821 Canal Road, in Orange Beach, Alabama. Prior to a short business meeting, Nadine Cohen, Instruction and Reference Librarian at the University of Georgia Libraries will be the keynote speaker.
About the Speaker
UGA Librarian Nadine Cohen will be speaking about the K-16 information literacy efforts in her state. Ms. Cohen has been a librarian for 17 years, all of it spent at the University of Georgia as the reference and instruction librarian for the College of Education. Her undergraduate degree is in Political Science; her Masters degrees are in African Studies and in Library and Information Science, both from UCLA. For the last six years she has had the pleasure of collaborating on various information literacy projects with K12 media specialists and public librarians in the greater Athens area, and she looks forward to sharing the highs and lows of those experiences with AACRL. She says,"The road to K16 information literacy is long and sometimes bumpy, but well worth the trip."
