Sooner or later all libraries have to deal with administrative change. The AACRL Programs Committee is pleased to announce a forthcoming workshop on administrative change featuring four Alabama librarians who will share experiences and discuss how librarians can both cope with the difficulties and take advantage of the opportunities presented by administrative change.
Speakers will present a variety of perspectives including those of library administrators and will address such aspects of administrative change as making the most of it, what a new administrator can expect when he or she moves to a new library or is promoted, suggested coping strategies for staff dealing with new administrators who have a radically different agenda or style from their predecessors, and more.
Speakers include:
Barbara Kelly, Director of Libraries, Faulkner University
Jeff Luzius, Associate Dean for Library Services, Gadsden State Community College
Bonnie MacEwan, Dean of the Auburn University Libraries
Christopher Shaffer, Director of Library Services, Troy University – Dothan Campus Library
